Dee McCandlish Scholarship

The Dee McCandlish Scholarship Fund was established in 2008 and was first announced at the 52nd Annual Convention of MBAC in Hilton Head, SC on the retirement of former Executive Director McCandlish. The scholarship was created to honor McCandlish for her excellence in service to MBAC over a 20 year period.

Pope Scholarship

Established in 1972, the Pope Scholarship Fund has awarded over $170,000 in financial aid to 80 deserving students at colleges and universities in North and South Carolina. Honoring the memory of industry pioneer Claude E. Pope, the scholarships are available to college students pursuing studies in mortgage banking, finance, or a related field. These scholarships are solely funded by donations from members and fundraising activities organized by the Scholarship and Recognition Committee.

  • This scholarship is designed for employees of preferred MBAC member firms or preferred MBAC individual members whose studies are directed towards the mortgage banking or mortgage-financing field and will enhance the recipients’ career opportunities within the mortgage banking field.

  • This scholarship is for students with a focus on mortgage banking or mortgage-financing studies, including real estate, banking, and economics. Applicants are required to articulate their interest in the scholarship and outline their career goals in mortgage banking.
